Notes for Competitors

Vehicles

Parking at Dorney is strictly controlled for the whole duration of the Met.  This is to ensure that legal requirements for emergency access can be met, and so that Regatta officials and Dorney staff can carry out their duties.

Ample competitors' car passes will be sent electronically to clubs following the draw.  On arrival at the course please follow the instructions of the parking marshals and park only in the areas designated by them.  The Regatta reserves the right to remove and/or clamp any vehicle parked otherwise than in the designated car parks.

If you do not have a pass, you will be charged £10 per vehicle to enter.

Please make sure you leave your vehicle locked and take any valuables with you.  The Regatta cannot accept liability in the event of loss or damage.

It is strictly forbidden to follow racing by motor vehicle.

Only officials' vehicles are permitted on the roads
a)    in the start area
b)    around the boathouses
c)    on the south west (island) side of the course.

Trailers and towing vehicles must be parked in the designated areas as directed by the parking marshals.

Camping

Camping is not allowed by the course or elsewhere in the park.

On the water

Please ensure that you know the rules regarding safety and circulation on the water.  Copies are circulated to all clubs entering the Regatta immediately after the draw, and club captains and coaches are asked to ensure that these are distributed to the appropriate people, and diligently read and acted on.  Breaches can result in disqualification of a crew, or in extreme cases, of an entire club.

General

Please help us keep the course and park tidy by using the litter bins provided; and please ensure that nothing you do will contaminate the waters of the lake in any way.
